XDivision Champ Injured!

TNA's X Division Champion Petey Williams suffered a fractured orbital bone during the television tapings in Orlando. The word backstage was that he suffered the injury when he took an inadvertent knee to the eye from Jimmy Rave. There was absolutely no heat between Petey and Rave afterward. Jeff Jarrett said "Its just one of those things that can happen during a match." The average downtime for an injury like this is six weeks.

Tazz & Adamle Walk Off...

Tuesday night, ECW announcers Mike Adamle and Tazz removed their headsets and left the broadcast position before the conclusion of ECW on Sci Fi. The event occurred just prior to the evening’s main event Handicap Match, featuring ECW Champion Kane and Chavo Guerrero with Bam Neely. Adamle and Tazz reportedly exited the arena and marched straight to the parking lot. Adamle was said to look shocked and expressionless as he left. WWE Superstars were taken back by this unprecedented occurrence. Calls and texts to both Adamle and Tazz have gone unanswered. It has been no secret that our traditional ECW fans have not been satisfied with Adamle’s lackluster commentary. Speculation is this could have led to the play by play and color commentator walking off during a WWE broadcast. Did Adamle and Tazz leave of their own volition or were they asked to leave? Stay tuned on EVO to find out more on this situation.

Sign Confiscated...

At the SmackDown/ECW taping in Greensboro, NC last week, one person in attendance showed a "Fire Adamle" sign during the ECW broadcast. One of the tech guys jumped the rail to confiscate the sign. He said he needed the sign, although agreed with what was written on it. He said, "Even though I agree with you, we can't have that sign on TV." WWE now tapes ECW before SmackDown, so they were able to edit the sign off the show.

WWE Releases...

ECW star Balls Mahoney was officially released by World Wrestling Entertainment this afternoon. WWE.com wished him well in his future endeavors. Mahoney was one of the few remaining ECW originals still with the company. He was hired for the relaunch of the ECW brand in 2006 and was only used on television a few times since then.

The company also released developmental talent Michael Thompson today, according to PWInsider. Thompson was training at Florida Championship Wrestling. WWE was hopeful that his football background would give him an edge in his wrestling training, but they were not satisfied with his progress.

With 3 developmental stars getting released last week and now Dave Taylor, Balls Mahoney and Michael Thompson today, spring cleaning is in full effect.
